Everything's an Argument-Chapters 1 and 20 were insightful for this upcoming assignment. Chapter 1 talked about the different types of arguments and how to choose and connect with your audience. I liked how it went through detail of each different type of argument and had an example to go with it. For my research proposal, I was looking at arguments to convince, explore, and inform. It gives a great background information to start with. I really liked how it talked about what kind of context you should use to be appropiate for your audience. I learned a lot about appealing the audience. On page 38, the chapter talked about pathos, ethos, and logos. These are different appeals from emotional, credibility, and reason to the audience. Chapter 20 is about MLA style and documenting sources. It shows examples of citations from unknown authors to a speech. This is going to be very useful when I have to do bibliographies this next deadline. I also finally learned what MLA stood for, Modern Language Association.
The Bedford Researcher- The readings for this deadline were easy to comprehend and informational. It made me feel comfortable about starting my reasearch proposal because I was nervous and had no clue what to write about. Chapter 1 helped ease my nerves by showing me in steps how to look for topics and different research tools. It told me how to go to the library to fin books, articles, and web directories. It also showed me how to choose my topic through choosing my audience and analyzing the assignment. I also liked using brainstorming and clustering my ideas to get me closer to figuring out my topic. It gave good advice on how I should take notes of my resaerch such as summarizing pages and keeping a folder of all my research materials and information. The MLA chapter is very similar to Everything's an Argument, so I did not really stress over it. It also let me know I could find other resources through blogs on the internet. I did not mess with the websites and will use them for reference another time. Overall, these chapters are the basis of me doing well on this research proposal and the other assigments in the future.

we seem to have common veiws about how we feel about the books but they really do give pretty good infromation and gives clear discripitions, so it is pretty understandable why we got simular views.
